And yet...
there is an upside!!
I spent the afternoon on the couch with my kiddos
The day on the couch with my 9 yo who is sick too...
I read and drifted in and out of sleep..
and I ignored everything but the needs of my 3 young uns!
And when the evening came
and I looked at the piled up dishes
and the unswept floor
and the unfolded clothes...
I grinned!!
No-one is coming home to catch
me in this disaster!
So it can wait,
until another day!
The kids and I don't mind!!
The upside of being single...LOL!!
Very true! haha Hope you feel better soon. I went through the same thing last week. Don't worry about the chores....they'll still be there when you feel better. :)
ReplyDeleteI remember the first time I realized no one was going to come home to whine about what WASN'T done (never mind all the stuff I DID, honey!). It was very freeing!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better soon!!!
Oh, and I work with the littlest kids on Ryan's swim team (4-7 year olds)... my little sinkers :). They're not old enough or proficient enough to compete but we want them to grow up on the team, so I get them in the water and work on basic strokes (truly, though, I mainly just keep them from drowning ;). I love it... they are all SO cute! I re-posted a piece last week (on the 4th) called 'A Breast Man is Born'... if you get a chance, look at it... you'll get a chuckle ;).
yep- house work can always be put off- getting better cant !
ReplyDeleteGet better soon Debbie!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your downtime and get well soon!
ReplyDeleteHang in there.
LoL that sounds exactly how I felt yesterday. I believe the only twitter update I had was "The house is a disaster but, today, I don't care."
ReplyDeleteI hope you get well soon!
